Dr Chapman is currently suspended from working as a medical practitioner. On 20 December 2021 a charge was brought against him by the Crown Prosecution Service.
For legal reasons, we are unable to comment directly on the case, so we ask you please not to contact the practice directly or ask our staff about this issue. Instead, Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group is providing a telephone line that you can contact if you would like to discuss any concerns. Please note that this line is only for any issues that you may wish to raise specifically relating to this matter. Your medical needs will continue to be met by the practice.
The telephone number for this Support Line is: 0300 3036409 and will be open from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
The incidents which resulted in the charge do not involve a patient. However, we understand that this will be upsetting and concerning to many of our patients, as it is for everyone at the practice. Our priority continues to be to provide care for our patients, and the remaining doctors and staff in the practice are working additional hours to care for Dr Chapman’s patients. We are grateful for your ongoing support and understanding at this difficult time.
